- Mari, what pushes you to meet your goals?
“The thought that the work that we are putting forward can make a positive impact on an individual.“
- What is self-care to you and how do you practice it?
“To me, self care is taking time to do (or not to do) things for yourself. It’s nurturing your mind and body. I practice self care by making sure to have one day out of the week devoted to me and doing what I want to do. It typically involves staying in all day watching Bravo or The Office, lighting incense or essential natural oils, singing obnoxiously loud to Selena, and tending to my plants. I’m working on growing a mini jungle in my apartment, and I found that watering or pruning them while I have my essential oils on and music playing in the background has really helped me relax and restore myself.”
- What is something you can’t live without, outside of electronics?
“A bowl of spaghetti with tons of Parmesan cheese on top 🍝 And now I’m hungry! I love spaghetti, could eat it all day everyday, and have somehow never been tired of eating it. Mi mamá likes to say it’s because she used to eat tons of pasta while she was pregnant with me.”
- What’s one trend you hope never goes away?
“Choker style accessories. Maybe it’s because I’m still stuck in the 90s.”
- What did your kid self want to be when you were an adult?
“What didn’t I want to be! I think it’s the Pisces in me, but I wanted to be anything and everything involving the arts. My first big dream was to be Selena, then it moved to a dancer (until I realized I can’t dance)”
